This national award-winning program tells the stories of everyday Alaskans. It’s Alaskan art, culture, and opinions; it’s the way we live and what we love. But most of all, AK is a whole lot of fun! AK has its own web site at akradio.org where you can browse through the entire AK archive (going back to fall 2003), find out when AK airs on your local APRN station, subscribe to the AK podcast and more.

Alaska News Nightly

Alaska News Nightly (ANN) is a 30-minute roundup of news from around Alaska. It’s broadcast each weeknight on the stations of the Alaska Public Radio Network (check local listings; our live broadcast begins at 5:00 p.m.). Stories are produced by APRN reporters in Anchorage, Juneau and Washington, DC, plus we distribute selected news from reporters at APRN stations statewide.

LIVE each week on APRN’s 25 public radio stations, this is Alaska’s only statewide call-in forum for discussing the issues impacting life on the Last Frontier. Politics, science, culture and current events are all covered by host Steve Heimel along with expert guests and callers. Listen and participate Tuesdays at 10:00 a.m.

Weekend Newscast

Alaska news doesn’t take the weekend off, so neither does APRN. Tune in at the top of the hour on many APRN stations during the weekend for a quick 5-minute loop through Alaska’s headlines.
