Phenology is the timing of the annual cycles of plants and animals and a national network has been set up to collect observations of these things from citizens across the country.
It’s all about timing. The geese arrive in Alaska just as conditions are right for nesting. Salmon reach the gravel just as rivers get clear. But climate warming may be changing the timing of things and scientists need help tracking all the changes.
This data turns out to be very important for climate change studies and projections.
