It is Conoco Phillips way of showing the state of Alaska that they are in control of the state and if the state does not do what they ask Conoco Phillips will shut down the spending of money for new jobs. They do not belive in sharing the wealth.

This is Conoco’s way to send a message of intimidation. By doing this so fast after the passing of the PPT bill, it says “We are going to take our toys home if you don’t play our way.”

Actually great, the less the spend on that the more they spend on Taxes. Conocco needs to go.

Intimidation should go both ways. The state should pull the leases for not making the manditory safety upgrades to the facility in question and give the whole operation to a company that willing to share in the profits with the state that’s loaning them the land. I thought we are supposedly in this “together”…..

Total BS… This project was not even in Conoco’s Capital Projects list for next year. Come on journalists, dig deeper. Ask the important questions.

Conoco Phillips Can’t afford to spend that much money on upgrading because of a higher tax. I bet if Alaska national wildlife refuge were to open to drilling they would have plenty of money for upgrades and development.

ALASKA SHOULD HAVE THERE OWN OIL COMPANY THAT WAY WE CAN HAVE ALL THE PROFITS

IT’S ALL ABOUT THE MONEY…Unless they can have it all they don’t want to play. The terms SHARE and FAIR are unknown to them. It’s so sad that they have so many of our governmental entities in their pockets. They are so use to getting their way just like a spoiled child. Well hopefully someday they’ll get the spanking they deserve… :)
