Stations

As a group, the 25 public radio stations of APRN have agreed to share the costs and benefits of a coordinated statewide radio news, public affairs and satellite distribution system. Additionally, some news directors or others at the stations produce stories for distribution via APRN programs.

All 25 stations are nonprofit community service entities that rely upon a combination of local financial support from individuals and businesses, federal support and state support. Some rely heavily on federal support while others are largely funded by the individuals and companies in their local communities.

APRN Headquarters

APRN is headquartered in Anchorage and employs several news professionals to produce the daily news programming and the weekend cultural program, “AK.” APRN also employs technical professionals (via parent company APTI) to keep the satellite systems, audio and automation systems operating round-the-clock.
