Governor promotes funding for statewide healthcare initiatives

In Anchorage today, Governor Sarah Palin signed a new administrative order creating the Alaska Health Care Commission and talked up plans for funding increases to Denali Kid Care and other health initiatives. Palin was surrounded by commissioners from the departments of health and social services, education, labor and was also joined by the chancellor of the University of Alaska Anchorage. The governor said she is supporting legislation to increase eligibility for low income families in the Denali Kid Care program from 175% of the poverty level to 200%.
