In case your confused on Ballot Measure 4, listen to what Andrew Halcro has to say. This is not about clean water.

In the battle for the hearts, minds and votes of Alaskans, the real story of Ballot Measure 4 is the mob like threats and shadowy financing being used by the proponents of the measure:

According to this audio, the measure will prevent existing large mines like Red Dog from developing new facilities and renewing permits. That would be a very tough thing for the people of Northwest Alaska. Dissapointing too, since Red Dog has at the end of the day done such a good job finding solutions to environmental challenges with Red Dog Creek. How can Bruce Switzer say this is aimed at Pebble when it will obviously have an unjustified Statewide impact?

The reason why the side in opposition has spent so much money on ads is so that they can make more money by dumping their minerals into a stream. They do not want to dump their minerals anywhere else because it cost to much. Ballot measure 4 is really about the profits the Pebble Mine will make, it is NOT about whether it is going to open or not.
