Navy looks for input for activities in the Gulf of Alaska

The US Navy wants you! That is, it’s seeking your input in an environmental impact statement. The EIS is a review of the Navy’s ongoing activities in the Gulf of Alaska, and potential increase in activities. There are nine days left in the public comment period.ow Alaskans are getting fatter.

    The comments that Alaskans don’t understand the Navy’s mission Sheila Murray were disingenuous at best; frankly, I found them insulting.
    I attended the “scoping meeting” in Kodiak; we here in Kodiak understand clearly the Navy’s mission and duties.
    The so-called “scoping” meeting was simply posters set up on tables with so-called experts there to answer questions. Over and over again, they attempted to deny the science that proves the harmful effects of mid-frequency sonar on marine mammals.
    As to meeting attendance, it’s important to note that no meeting was held in Homer.
    Their map of Alaska showed Anchorage as the capital city. It would seem to me that it’s the Navy that isn’t up to speed on things.
