I can’t begin to say how disappointed I am at your weak coverage of the All Alaska Sweepstakes. This historical running of our ’state sport’ is worthy of the same depth of coverage as the Iditarod. The Sweepstakes is the richest of dog races, with a purse larger than the Quest & Iditarod combined. Additionally, the record has stood since 1910. In case you haven’t noticed, Lance Mackey is currently leading and Jeff King has come up from 9th for second place, suggesting a dual for the $100,000 purse reminiscent of their recent Iditarod race. Please get on the ball! It’s a short race & will be over before APRN begins to cover it!
