Governor Palin negotiates with House over budget

Governor Palin today met with House members to try to avoid a showdown over nearly $70,000,000 in capital projects that she vetoed out of last year’s budget. In an informal session in the speaker’s office, Palin offered to give up part of her proposals in the regular budget in exchange for the House’s removal of the contentious projects from the supplemental budget.

Western Aleutian communities need more affordable energy allocation. A state that produces oil should do more to help remote communities thruout alaska…Heating oil and petroleum products are way too high…With air service being limited to one air carrier it results in very high transportation costs in and out of our village…we need more competition…PEN AIR AND ALASKA AIR ARE MONOPOLIZING OUR AIR SERVICES…BRING BACK MARK AIR..
