Exxon Valdez plaintiffs file last brief before Supreme Court oral arguments

Yesterday, attorneys submitted a brief to the Supreme Court on behalf of claimants in the Exxon-Valdez punitive damages case. This is the plaintiffs’ final document to be filed and their last act in the litigation before the court hears oral arguments in late February.

    Can you give me your report on the Supreme Court letting Exxon off the ExxonValdez oil spill hook?

    Mr. Manville… The Supreme Court has not yet heard the Exxon Valdez case (as of this writing), so there’s no report from APRN on their decision. We will definitely be reporting on it when the time comes, which is expected no earlier than late this month.

    In most cases, the Supreme Court hears oral arguments but does not announce their decision immediately. Decisions usually come down later in the term.
