The military must seek the approval of the citizens who call Fairbanks home for permission and provide substantial compensation to the municipality for disrupting normal activities. The military has no authority to authorize this kind of activity on their own.

With concern to the members of the fairbanks community, much of the West part of Fairbanks is Fort Wainwright. Conducting Urban Scouting training is essential for new pilots as well as their crew. And with regards to the men and women who have been lost due to attacks in urban areas of Iraq, this training is crucial.

Flying over the cleaned, unclutter, unpopulized portions of Fort Wainwright, does not give the men and women who are training in these exercises the proper point of view.

Try living on post and having fly overs from neighboring Eielson AFB, live-fire exercises from the other end of the base, and constent noise from other exercises. In choosing to reside near a military base, you are accepting what, and who comes in it.
