Most people associate dog mushing with the long-distance Idiotarod or shorter village races. But one Dillingham resident is trying to revive a Bristol Bay dog sled tradition—the work dog.

    I’m really glad you picked this story up so those outside Dillingham could listen. Nushagak Kennels http://nushagakkennels.blogspot.com/ is one of my favorite Tundra Teachers blogs to read.

    I like his attitude (working dogs who also race). The much specialized 1000 mile Idiotarod [sic] is an acquired taste (now, the Yukon Quest– there’s a distance race!)
