Alcohol taxes may jump 100% in Fairbanks

Fairbanks bars and restaurants say a proposed doubling of the city alcohol tax could drain their already thinning business. But mayor Steve Thompson says it’s needed to help pay for this year’s sizable budget shortfall.

    It seems that the city still has not gotten the point……cut the waste. Quit raising our taxes….we are beyond tired of it; whether it is at the city-level….the burrough….state……or, federal. We are done……stick a fork in us. ;-p
